Blink 182 bassist Mark Hoppus revealed today on Instagram that he is undergoing treatment for cancer.
The Instagram Story was deleted a few minutes after being posted, but read "Yes hello. One cancer treatment, please." The 49-year-old musician appeared to be undergoing chemotherapy at a medical facility assumed to be in California, wearing a black Los Angeles Dodgers hat, and clutching a black and white wireless Sony Playstation controller.
Neither Hoppus nor the band have yet to make any statement since he deleted the post, but devastated fans on social media are starting to learn of the news.
It is unclear what type of cancer Hoppus could be battling. The National Cancer Institute estimates that 1.8 million cases of cancer get diagnosed each year in the United States.
